Festool BHC 18 Cordless Hammer Drill

The BHC blasts through the hardest concrete while isolating the user from vibration with an innovative pivoting handle design that gives excellent control and amazing comfort. The 18v battery combined with a EC-TEC brushless motor uses advanced electronics to deliver constant speed under load, while conserving battery life. The motor runs at up to 1100 rpm and 4895 percussive strokes per minute to pulverizes tough materials. For the weight this is the most powerful hammer drill on the market, putting out 1.8 joules and weighing in at just 5 lbs. 11 oz.

Now days, a lot of drills have power – but you’ll have a difficult time finding one that does the job at such a comfortable weight, and won’t leaving you shaking at the end of the day. We easily plowed a 3/8″ hole into 100 year old concrete floor, without needing to attach the optional side handle. When drilling concrete, or masonry we often find our selves reaching far up a wall, or drilling above head level – and in both cases the weight of the BHC and its ample power (to get the job done quickly) are a godsend.

The quick release chuck fits SDS-Plus bits, meaning you can use your current collection of masonry bits. The Basic package comes with the drill, depth stop, and side handle packed in a SYS 2 Systainer. It does NOT include a battery, which is sold separately. (Festool discontinued the BHC Plus set.)
